They say imitation is the best form of flattery. It is in that vein that we acknowledge the book that Dr. Ellis published in 2005 entitled The Myth of Self-esteem: How Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy Can Change Your Life Forever.

While the title may be reminiscent of Franklin's Classic, Overcoming the Myth of Self-Worth, it should be noted that Ellis' book was written a decade after he himself had written the introduction to Franklin's own book.

Ellis, however, was not the first to note the value and popularity of Franklin's book. In 1998, John P. Hewitt published his book entitled The Myth of Self-Esteem: Finding Happiness and Solving Problems in America.

While we recognize that each of these individuals has their own following, we are proud to be able to offer the new enhanced edition of the original book by Richard L. Franklin.
